Discover the best kept secret towards building
a child with better self-confidence, self-discipline, and self-control!
GIVE YOUR CHILD A GIFT THAT LAST FOREVER...CONFIDENCE
"I couldn't believe my friends and neighbors when they told me that Karate would
teach my child confidence, respect, and focus....
I had to find out for myself and it was the best choice I have ever made!"
Dear Parents,
All parents have the best intention for their children. There are many times while your child is growing up that you are glad that you were able to direct them and help keep them on the right track. Most parents fear the time when their child will begin to live with peer-pressure and inevitably the time they will leave for college. Experts believe that most children will develop the skills between the ages of 2 and 9 that will help them deal with those peer-pressure situations and hard decision making times later in life.
There’s a lot that you can do as a parent to help insure that your child will not only have success in middle school and high school, but also as a young adult. Martial Arts may be the best kept secret.
For many years parents across Atlanta have enrolled their children in our martial arts program to help train them in the physical side of Karate. All of these parents were satisfied with having a child able to defend him/herself but they were significantly more pleased with the mental benefits a student learns while participating in Karate.
Here at Karate Atlanta we understand what parents want. We understand that being able to jump over six obstacles, or being able to kick towards the ceiling may not help your child earn better grades. We understand the importance in creating an environment for your child to not only learn Karate but most importantly to help train them mentally. We take time to teach children respect, focus, self-discipline, self-motivation, pride, and self-control. Most importantly, our certified instructors are able to teach these skills while having fun and enjoying every minute of Karate class!
DON'T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT...
Years ago, when my child first developed an interest in martial arts, this was all that was on the television. Big guys throwing punches and coming away unscathed. My child was determined to be like the people on television and in the movies – whether they were big name movie stars or one of the Ninja Turtles.
We were recommended to a Karate Atlanta studio and this is where I received my first lesson in martial arts. I had no idea my child would develop a deep sense of respect, an eye for detail, keen hearing and a fine-tuned memory. I would listen as the instructor would call out a combination of moves and then watch my child do every move with perfection – not once asking for the instructions to be repeated, but absorbing mentally each move as it was being recited. I wasn't watching my child learn how to "beat-up the mean people", but instead I was watching my child respect and appreciate the things he could teach his body to respond to. The first time he broke though a board or won a sparing match was worth every lesson. From a school standpoint, I have watched my child take a really difficult assignment and break it down as he would a complex move – figuring out each little piece until the whole assignment was complete. Very much like a difficult move – all little moves making a very powerful combination of moves.
Of course, as with other sports or extra activities, he was a keen learner in finding ways not to attend classes – whether he was too tired or had too much homework. However, we stuck with it and he achieved his first degree black belt. There is no way to explain the smile that literally stretched across his face the day his instructor placed his black belt around his waist.
For any parent thinking whether this is a good sport, think no more. This is more than a sport. This is more than learning how to hit a ball or make a basket. The martial arts training my child received at Karate Atlanta was better than anything I could have dreamed of. The self respect, the dedication to the sport and the idea of going for the "black belt and beyond" cannot be measured in dollars.

For the past 2 years our school has visited this studio as a culminating activity for our unit on the study of Japan. Both students and teachers thoroughly enjoy this experience. The staff guides the students through several activities that teach discipline and respect, and exercises the mind as well as the body. The staff explains and demonstrates several techniques for the students and allows them to participate. The students are actively engaged throughout the demostrations and enjoy every "second" of it! We sincerely value our time spent at Karate For Kids / Karate Atlanta and plan to continue supporting them for years to come!
